IP-Storage software lines available to OEM Partners
Puchheim, Germany – February 22, 2007 - Open-E GmbH, the software developer of Network Attached Storage (NAS) and iSCSI storage solutions, today announced that the company will introduce an OEM product line of its IP-Storage software solutions at the CeBIT 2007 in Hannover.
The Munich-based company will appeal to new potential partners as it offers the Open-E DSS, Open-E NAS-R3 Enterprise and Open-E iSCSI-R3 Enterprise to its line of software available in “white label - generic” versions. In order to customize the generic versions, Open-E will offer an OEM Toolkit, only to certified System Integrators, Software Houses and other OEM customers, to enable them to offer high performing and easy-to-manage IP-Storage systems under their own name.
“We are excited to introduce our new product line of software during the CeBIT 2007, that will be only available to our channel partners,” said Krzysztof Franek, CEO and President of Open-E. “This adds a new opportunity for fulfilling the expectations of our partners, while remaining true to our mission to offer the best IP-storage software. Therefore we have integrated in our Open-E R-3 and DSS family new appealing technologies, like Intel® I/O Acceleration Technology, hot-swap software RAID, S/W LED drive identifier, and double OS space. These new features will improve data-throughput, cost-effectiveness, management and the downtime of Open-E based storage devices”.
In 2006 the Open-E software has proven to be a high-performing software, with which Open-E System Integrators could compete against A-Brands in the storage market. Last year Open-E Partners have won challenging projects at customers like SAP, US-Army, RAI Uno, national and private broadcasting studios and institutions like universities, police stations, research centers and governments. The largest known Open-E based installations in 2006 were in terms of capacity 90TB and in terms of users 60,000!
At the CeBIT, Open-E will also show a preview of its new 64bit software with Network Backup utilities. Krzysztof Franek “The capacity of storage devices is exploding. We see that more and more Open-E systems are bigger than 16TB. This requires new features for backing–up and managing this kind of storage capacities. Therefore Open-E will integrate intelligent Network Backup utilities in its 64bit software. Since November 2006 the first 64bit Open-E NAS installation is running with 54TB in one single volume!”
Members of the press and analyst community interested in one-on-one time and/or product demos with Open-E at CeBIT 2007 in Hannover, Hall 1, Stand F78 are invited to send an E-mail to Mrs. Ruth Philipp at ruth.philipp@open-e.com.
Intel and Open-E will also have a joint booth at CeBIT in Hall 25, zone “Planet Reseller”, Stand P103. Open-E will showcase Intel’s latest IP-technology like Intel® I/O Acceleration Technology, Intel® iSCSI Boot in an Open-E DSS storage solution. Of course Open-E supports also the enclosures management of Intel. At this moment Open-E is working very closely with Intel to fully take advantage of Intel® Multi-Core Architecture.
